(Or you could enter the eating contest and get all the New Deluxe paczki you can eat in 15 minutes for free.)
I will be thinking of all of you eating paczki's tomorrow.
I should be at the Dodge no later then 1pm.
Let's do this.
:)
If Saturday's turnout was any indication, this year should be something.
I will be attending tomorrow's festivites with a bunch of Polish-Americans from Dearborn. We have always wanted to come celebrate Paczki Day in Hamtramck but never actually made it out here. We plan to arrive around 1:00. What should we expect as new comers? Any recommendations on where the best place to be is?
Sincerly yours and Na Zdrowie!

stop by kopytko's on the south side of town & get some chunky sausage.
eat lunch on the north side just outside of hamtramck at krakus (joseph campau)
or join everyone at the above mentioned places & at the bigger or better known businesses:
paczki: polish market/new deluxe/new palace/martha washington;
restaurants: polonia, polish village cafe, under the eagle,holbrook cafe;
& visit the polish art center before or after you get your coffee from cafe 1923.
go to all our friendly bars - many will have food & music.
somebody chime in on everything & everbody that i missed.
Kopytko's = great hot take-out. Dinners at PLAV 10 are always great. The Polish Muslims are super popular and anywhere they play will be packed to the doors.
The $5 breakfast at the Knights of Columbus is a good way to start the day. The eating contest is a must see. The record is 22 paczki eaten over 15 minutes. Here is the video from last year.
