The Historical Commission has a few things coming up on the calendar. On April 25 at 7:00 p.m., Greg Kowalski will give a slide show and lecture of "Hamtramck Now & Then" at Cafe 1923. This will be the first of several slide shows at the coffee house this summer.

On May 17, Greg Kowalski will host a free walking tour. Meet him on the steps of St. Florian at 1 p.m..

Bangladesh American Public Affairs Committee now has a YouTube channel.

The community garden at the Knights of Columbus is celebrating their one year anniversary. A new rain barrel system is in place, and reserved plots are available. Gardeners can also help in the community gardening space. Interested parties can contact Tom Koch at 623-3793.

Two Hamtramck women are suspected of murdering a woman whose body was found on Belle Isle. Alicia Yellowfox-Hall has been arraigned and currently awaits trial at the Wayne County Jail. Police are still looking for the second suspect, Misti Farmer.

A special education teacher at Hamtramck High is accused of sending sexually explicit images to a minor.

This morning, the Warren police chased two carjackers into Hamtramck, and caught at least one of them at Colonel Hamtramck Homes.

According to the Wayne County Sheriff's office Misty Farmer turned herself in and both are being charged with first degree murder, premeditated.........
