A new store, Design.99, is planning to open at 10022 Joseph Campau on September 1.

Hamtramck police had to break up the street party at PLAV 10 because the organizer didn't get a permit from Wayne County. From pictures on the internet, it looks like the show was moved to Wayne Metro's parking lot.

MSHDA is accepting applications for Cities of Promise/MSHDA/LISC AmeriCorps positions; two half time positions that offer a living stipend of approximately $9,000 each, and two full time positions approximately $18,000/year plus benefits. Workers also receive an educational stipend of $4,725 for full-time members and $2,362.50 for half-time members at the end of service. Members must be willing to travel and need to have reliable transportation. Candidates already living in the COP cities are strongly encouraged to apply. Deadline for application submission is August 22, 2007. Interviews will began the week of August 27th. South of the railroad tracks, both burned buildings near the jail have been demolished. Parking lots left over from the days of Dodge Main have been cleared completely, and trailers are being moved in.

Crain's Detroit Business explains how recent college graduates can buy houses in Hamtramck with low-rate MSHDA loans. Crain's also recognized the immigrant community's contribution to development in Hamtramck, but did not mention any immigrant driven developments.
