City ordinances

I spent some time at the city clerk's office on Friday, mostly reading through city ordinances. The following caught my eye for one reason or another. Some I agree with, and some should be repealed.

The completed work towards the codification of city ordinances. Cost recovery ordinance for hazardous materials response.

Bicycling ordinance. It is illegal to harbor chickens or rabbits.

Follow up:

An ordinance against discrimination in housing and employment.

An ordinance regulating medical waste incinerators which mandates soil testing prior to transfer of ownership.

The licensing of public markets, and the prohibition on selling anything but food.

Libelous and obscene publications are unlawful. It is unlawful to interrupt the worship of God, but only on the first day of the week.

It is against the law for men to dress as women or use public restrooms for women.
